Simple Bruschetta

The bread

sourdough or country-style bread (at least ½-inch thick)
The garlic
Instructions
- Rinse and dry the tomatoes, halve them, remove the seeds, and cut into ½-inch pieces.
- Tear the basil into small pieces and add to the tomatoes in a bowl.
- Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, a splash of vinegar, and a pinch of salt to the bowl and gently toss.
- Preheat a grill or oven to medium-high and brush the remaining olive oil on the bread slices.
- Grill or bake the bread until golden brown, flipping when necessary, then rub both sides with garlic.
- Top each slice of bread with the tomato mixture and drizzle with additional olive oil.
