Ingredients

  • 2 cups apple cider
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Boil the apple cider in a medium saucepan until it reduces to about ¼ cup.
  2. Lower the heat and add the granulated and brown sugars, stirring until dissolved.
  3. Add butter and heavy cream, then boil while whisking until the mixture thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Let cool before serving over ice cream, apple slices, or on its own.
