Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and have them ready.
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, heat sugar, salt, and water over medium-high heat, whisking constantly until sugar dissolves.
- Once boiling, stop whisking and let it boil until it reaches a dark amber color, swirling the pan occasionally.
- When dark amber is reached, add butter and whisk until melted, then remove from heat.
- Carefully pour in cream and whisk until smooth.
- Pour the caramel into a glass jar to cool, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
