Caramel Apples

Ingredients

The caramel

  • 1 cup agave nectar or honey
  • cups heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon celtic sea salt

For dipping

  • apples sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat agave in a saucepan until tiny bubbles form around the edges.
  2. Continue heating agave for 5 minutes to reduce water content.
  3. Add heavy cream and salt, then bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat to a simmer and continue simmering for 7-10 minutes until the caramel reaches a darker nutty color.
  5. Remove from heat and place the saucepan in a bowl of ice water to cool and thicken the caramel.
  6. Serve apple slices with individual ramekins of caramel for dipping.
