Champagne Margarita

The simple syrup

Instructions
- Make the simple syrup by combining sugar and water in a saucepan over medium-high heat, whisking until dissolved. Bring to a boil, then cool.
- Prepare the glass by dipping the rim in fresh lime juice and then in Kosher salt.
- Add ice to the prepared glass.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, and orange liqueur with ice, and shake vigorously.
- Pour the mixture over ice in the prepared glass.
- Top with champagne to taste.
