Instructions
- Combine milk and butter, heat until butter melts and mixture is warm.
- Mix 1 cup flour, sugar, egg, and salt in a stand mixer, then add the warm milk mixture.
- Sprinkle yeast over the mixture and stir, then add remaining flour and mix until absorbed.
- Grease a bowl, transfer dough, cover, and let rise until doubled in volume (about 2 hours).
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl, punch down the dough, and divide it.
- Roll each half into a rectangle, spread with butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, and roll into logs.
- Place logs seam side down on a baking sheet, make cuts, and pull sections outward.
- Let rise for about 40-45 minutes, then preheat oven to 375°F.
- Brush with beaten egg and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Cool slightly, whisk icing ingredients, and drizzle over the bread before serving.
