Instructions
- Prepare a parchment packet for the butter by folding the edges and creasing well.
- Whip the butter with sugar and cinnamon, then roll it into a thin sheet and chill until firm.
- Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl and let it sit until foamy.
- Add salt and flour, mixing to form a soft dough, then knead until smooth and let it rise until doubled.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle and place the chilled butter packet in the center.
- Fold the dough over the butter, sealing the edges, then roll it out into a long rectangle.
- Fold the dough in half and then fold the short edges to the center, repeating the folding process.
- Roll into a square and cut into strips, twisting each strip and placing them on a baking sheet.
- Let the twisted strips rise until puffy, then bake until golden brown.
- Brush any leaked butter over the tops and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar before serving.
