Ingredients

The base

  • 1 can (15 ounces) chickpeas, rinsed
  • 2 Tablespoons no-stir almond butter or sunflower seed butter
  • 2 teaspoons naturally refined coconut oil
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 Tablespoons canned coconut milk or coconut cream
  • 3 Tablespoons maple syrup
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar-free powdered sugar

The toppings

  • ¼ cup dairy free white chocolate and/or dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Blend chickpeas, almond butter, coconut oil, salt, vanilla extract, baking soda, coconut milk, and maple syrup in a food processor until combined.
  2. Add powdered sugar if desired and blend until smooth, adjusting sweetness to taste.
  3. Transfer hummus to a serving bowl and top with chocolate chips.
  4. Serve with snacks like berries, gluten-free pretzels, or cookies.
