Ingredients

The cookies

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 packet chai tea
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

The glaze

  • cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ heaping teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ heaping teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons eggnog or milk

Instructions

  1. Beat the butter until creamed, then mix in the vegetable oil.
  2. Add the granulated sugar, powdered sugar, egg, vanilla, and chai tea contents, mixing until incorporated.
  3. Mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined, then refrigerate the dough for about 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare baking sheets.
  5. Scoop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the sheets, flattening them to ¼-inch thick.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden, then cool completely.
  7. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and eggnog until smooth.
  8. Spread the glaze on each cooled cookie.
