Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 unbaked Flaky Pie Crust
  • 1 large egg (beaten with 1 Tablespoon milk or heavy cream for egg wash)

Filling

  • cups shelled pecans (pecan halves)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • ½ cup packed light or dark brown sugar
  • teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pie crust and chill it for at least 2 hours.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and roll out the chilled pie crust into a 12-inch circle.
  3. Place the dough into a 9-inch pie dish and tuck it in smoothly.
  4. Chop the pecans and spread them evenly inside the pie crust.
  5. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, melted butter, salt, and cinnamon.
  6. Pour the filling over the pecans in the pie crust.
  7. Bake for 50-55 minutes, covering the edges with a pie crust shield if they brown too quickly.
  8. Allow the pie to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
