Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and melt the butter in an 8x8-inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients for the batter, then add the milk, rum, and vanilla, stirring until just combined.
- In another bowl, mix the brown sugar and pecans for the topping.
- Dollop the batter over the melted butter without stirring, then sprinkle the topping over it.
- Slowly pour hot water over the entire mixture without stirring.
- Place the baking dish on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 30 to 40 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool for 20 to 25 minutes before serving warm with ice cream.
