Instructions
- Slice the turmeric into thin rounds, no wider than ΒΌ-inch.
- Combine the sliced turmeric and water in a saucepan over high heat.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to maintain a gentle simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and strain the mixture into a heat-safe cup or measuring cup.
- Serve hot, optionally garnished with lemon or orange and sweetened with honey or maple syrup to taste.
