Ingredients

  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh turmeric grated (or ½ teaspoon ground turmeric)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated (or ½ teaspoon ground ginger)
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 pinch black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine water, turmeric, and ginger in a medium saucepan.
  2. Simmer the mixture for 10 minutes over medium heat.
  3. Lower the heat and whisk in lemon juice and honey.
  4. Add black pepper if desired.
  5. If using fresh turmeric and ginger, strain the tea; if using powdered, blend well with an immersion blender.
  6. Serve the tea warm.
