Slow Cooker Sesame Beef

Ingredients

The sauce

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ½ Tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds

The beef

  • 2 lbs beef roast

The garnish

  • 6 pieces green onions

Instructions

  1. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, and water in a bowl and stir until dissolved.
  2. Mince garlic and grate ginger, then add them along with sesame oil to the soy sauce mixture.
  3. Slice or cube the beef roast and cut three green onions into sections.
  4. Place beef and green onions in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over them, stirring to combine.
  5. Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 8 hours until beef is tender.
  6. If beef is not tender, cook for an additional 30-60 minutes.
  7. Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir into the pot to thicken the sauce.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and remaining green onions, and serve over rice.
