Ingredients

BBQ Cranberry Sauce

  • 1 batch homemade cranberry sauce
  • 1 ½ cups spicy BBQ sauce
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • cup water
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper

Meatballs

  • 1 pound 93% lean ground turkey
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ tablespoon ground sage
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon allspice
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the homemade cranberry sauce if not already made.
  2. In the slow cooker, combine the cranberry sauce, BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, water, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, egg, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, sage, thyme, cumin, allspice, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and form into 20 meatballs.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the meatballs on all sides for about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Transfer the browned meatballs to the slow cooker and gently coat them with the sauce.
  6. Cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 6-7 hours. Once cooked, switch to the warm setting for serving.
