Cranberry Turkey Meatballs

Ingredients

The meatballs

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp ground sage
  • ½ tsp thyme

The sauce

  • 1 14 oz can whole berry cranberry sauce
  • cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

For garnish

  • to taste parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix together ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, sage, and thyme until well combined.
  3. Using about 3 tablespoons of the mixture, roll into balls and place on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs for 14-16 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, heat a saucepan over medium heat and add cranberry sauce, BBQ sauce, sriracha, and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Stir occasionally until the mixture is bubbling, then cook for an additional 5-6 minutes.
  7. Mash the softened berries and stir for another 2 minutes before turning off the heat.
  8. Add the cooked meatballs to a bowl and pour the cranberry sauce over them, mixing until coated.
  9. Transfer the meatballs to a serving dish, sprinkle with parsley, and serve with toothpicks.
