Sausage, Apple and Herb Stuffing

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Toast the bread cubes on a baking sheet for about 20 minutes until golden.
- Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- In the same skillet, sauté onion, fennel, and celery in butter until tender, then add apple and garlic and cook until tender.
- Combine the toasted bread, sausage, and sautéed vegetables in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together chicken broth, apple cider, egg, salt, and pepper, then mix into the bread mixture.
- Transfer the stuffing to a greased baking dish and bake covered for 35 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden.
