Ingredients

The rub

  • 2 ½ tablespoons BBQ seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil

The chicken

  • 1 whole chicken (3 to 5 pounds) whole chicken

The broth

  • 1 cup chicken broth

The finishing touch

  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Combine BBQ seasoning, salt, and oil in a small bowl to create a rub.
  2. Rub the oil mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin.
  3. Place the chicken in the air-crisp basket of the Ninja Foodi and pour broth into the inner pot.
  4. Set the Ninja Foodi to HIGH pressure for 15 minutes, ensuring the pressure lid is sealing.
  5. After 15 minutes, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, then release the remaining pressure.
  6. Carefully open the lid and brush the chicken skin with melted butter.
  7. Set the Ninja Foodi to Air Crisp at 400°F for 20 minutes, cooking until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  8. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before serving.
