Instructions
- Toast Szechuan peppercorns in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant, then crush them.
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl or jar and whisk until well mixed.
- For stir-fry, add cornstarch if desired and mix well before adding to the dish.
- For marinade, skip the cornstarch and season the meat or tofu with salt.
- For dipping sauce, heat in a saucepan and add cornstarch to thicken, simmer for 1 minute.
