Apple-Frangipane Galette

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400ºF and prepare a baking sheet.
- In a food processor, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add butter and pulse until crumbly.
- Add ice water and pulse until the dough holds together. Split the dough in half and shape into disks.
- In the same food processor, combine almond flour, sugar, salt, butter, and egg. Pulse until smooth, then add vanilla or alcohol.
- Roll out one disk of dough into a 12- or 13-inch round and place it on a lined baking sheet.
- Spread the frangipane in the center, leaving a 1-inch border, and arrange apple slices on top.
- Fold the edges of the dough over the apples, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 35 minutes or until golden. Let cool before serving, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
