Instructions
- Whisk together flour, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Cut in butter cubes until small clumps form.
- Add ice water gradually until the mixture comes together.
- Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it, and chill for 30 to 60 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the dough into a 13.5-inch round and transfer it to the baking sheet.
- Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples, then toss them with sugar and cinnamon.
- Arrange the apples in a circular pattern on the crust, leaving a 2-inch edge.
- Fold the crust edges over the apples and brush with egg wash.
- Sprinkle the edges with turbinado sugar and dot with remaining butter.
- Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until apples are tender.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before brushing with honey or preserves and slicing.
