Ingredients

The pasta

  • 8 oz pasta

The meat

  • 6 oz bacon

The vegetables

  • 1 small onion
  • 1 cup frozen peas

The seasoning

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • tsp crushed red pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1. Boil water in a pot for the pasta and cook the pasta until tender, reserving ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. 2. In a skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. 3. Sauté the diced onion in the remaining bacon grease until tender.
  4. 4. Add the frozen peas and reserved pasta water to the skillet, cooking until the peas are heated through.
  5. 5. Combine the drained pasta with the mixture in the skillet, then add Parmesan, salt, pepper, and crumbled bacon.
  6. 6. Stir everything together and adjust seasoning to taste.
