Parmesan Linguini with Peas

The pasta

dry wheat linguini

peas, fresh or frozen
The sauce

tablespoons
light butter

tablespoons
fresh lemon juice

fat free half & half

teaspoon
salt

½
teaspoon
dried basil flakes

freshly ground black pepper

Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Instructions
- 1. Boil water in a large pot and cook the linguini according to package instructions.
- 2. About 2 minutes before the pasta is done, add the peas to the boiling water.
- 3. Drain the pasta and peas together and set aside.
- 4. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the lemon juice.
- 5. Add the half & half, salt, pepper, and dried basil, along with most of the Parmesan, and stir to combine.
- 6. Cook the sauce over low-medium heat for a few minutes to heat through.
- 7. Combine the pasta and peas with the sauce in a serving dish and toss until coated.
- 8. Serve with reserved Parmesan sprinkled on top.
