Ingredients

The burgers

  • 19 oz ground turkey
  • 4 oz diced green chiles, drained
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2-3 pieces green onions, sliced
  • 2 oz pepper jack cheese, shredded

The assembly

  • 5 pieces hamburger buns
  • 1 large tomato (optional)
  • 1 large avocado (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine ground turkey, drained green chiles, sliced green onions, shredded pepper jack cheese, cumin, garlic powder, and salt in a large bowl and mix well.
  2. Divide the mixture into five equal portions and shape them into patties.
  3. Cook the patties in a skillet, on a grill, or an indoor grill until fully cooked (internal temperature of 165ºF) and browned.
  4. Serve each patty on a bun with a slice of tomato, avocado, and mayonnaise if desired.
