Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add ground turkey, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
- Add diced onion to the pan and cook until softened.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook briefly.
- Transfer the turkey mixture to a slow cooker.
- Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cocoa powder, sugar, and remaining salt.
- Stir to combine and cook on LOW for 6 hours.
- Add kidney beans and cook for an additional 20 minutes until warmed through.
- Serve with desired toppings.
