Ingredients

  • 1 lb grated zucchini
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz smoked gouda cheese
  • 2 tablespoons snipped fresh chives
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 teaspoons soft butter

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle grated zucchini with salt and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Rinse the zucchini thoroughly and squeeze out excess liquid.
  3. Mix zucchini with dried dill and chives in a bowl.
  4. In another bowl, beat eggs, salt, pepper, and heavy cream until frothy.
  5. Layer ¼ of the cheese in a buttered pie plate, followed by ⅓ of the zucchini mixture. Repeat layers, finishing with cheese.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 40-50 minutes until browned and slightly soft in the middle.
  8. Let cool before serving.
