Lemon Garlic Pasta

Ingredients

The pasta

  • 3 cups long fusilli pasta
  • ½ cup Sante Nuts Chipotle Almonds
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil
  • to taste none whole basil leaves for garnish

The sauce

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 large cloves garlic
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp minced onion
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp cracked black pepper
  • 2 none lemons (juiced)
  • 1 none lemon (zest)
  • 1 ½ cups parmesan cheese (grated)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the heavy cream, salt, minced onion, onion powder, cracked black pepper, lemon juice, and zest, cooking for a few more minutes.
  4. Add the parmesan cheese, stirring until melted, then bring to a light boil.
  5. Reduce the heat and let the sauce thicken for about 5 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, cook the long fusilli pasta according to package instructions.
  7. Rinse and strain the pasta, saving some pasta water.
  8. Combine the pasta with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
  9. Mix in the chopped almonds and basil, then serve with fresh basil leaves.
