Lemon Garlic Pasta

The sauce

Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Stir in the heavy cream, salt, minced onion, onion powder, cracked black pepper, lemon juice, and zest, cooking for a few more minutes.
- Add the parmesan cheese, stirring until melted, then bring to a light boil.
- Reduce the heat and let the sauce thicken for about 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the long fusilli pasta according to package instructions.
- Rinse and strain the pasta, saving some pasta water.
- Combine the pasta with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
- Mix in the chopped almonds and basil, then serve with fresh basil leaves.
