Ingredients

The base ingredients

  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • ½ cup honey or maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Optional toppings or mix-ins

  • cup dark chocolate chips, melted
  • ¼ cup raisins or dried cranberries
  • ¼ cup almonds or hemp hearts

Instructions

  1. Combine the rolled oats, salt, and any optional dry mix-ins in a large bowl and set aside.
  2. In a small saucepan, bring the honey to a boil over medium heat and boil for 1 minute.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter until smooth, then pour over the oats and mix well.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9-inch square baking dish lined with parchment paper and press firmly into the pan.
  5. Let the mixture cool, then slice into 12 bars and store in an airtight container.
