Ingredients

The Hash Browns

  • 1 pound Yukon gold potatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup vegan parmesan (optional)

Cooking Oil

  • to taste drizzle favorite roasting oil or broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C) if baking.
  2. Shred the potatoes using a box grater or food processor.
  3. Rinse the shredded potatoes in a colander to remove starch, then soak in water for about 5 minutes.
  4. Rinse again and squeeze out excess water using a kitchen towel.
  5. If frying, mix the potatoes with the other ingredients and pan fry over medium heat until crisp, about 10-15 minutes, flipping occasionally.
  6. If baking, mix the potatoes with the other ingredients, spread evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and bake for 30-40 minutes until desired crispness is achieved.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
