Ingredients

  • 1 pound Russet potatoes
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Scrub and grate the potatoes, then rinse until the water runs clear.
  2. Drain and dry the grated potatoes using a tea towel or paper towels.
  3. Toss the dried potatoes with salt, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  5. Spread the potatoes in an even layer in the skillet and press down.
  6. Cook undisturbed for 2 minutes, then stir and press down again.
  7. Repeat stirring and pressing every 2 minutes until golden brown and crispy, about 8 to 12 minutes total.
  8. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  9. Season with additional salt if needed and serve hot.
