Ingredients

The potatoes

  • 2 large russet potatoes

The cooking oil

  • 4 Tbsp cooking oil

The seasoning

  • to taste seasoning salt

Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes if desired and shred them using a cheese grater or food processor.
  2. Rinse the shredded potatoes in a colander until the water runs clear, then let them drain.
  3. Squeeze out excess water from the potatoes using your hands or a clean towel.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of cooking oil, spreading it across the surface.
  5. Add about 1/3 of the shredded potatoes in a thin layer and let them fry undisturbed until golden brown (3-5 minutes).
  6. Season the potatoes lightly with seasoning salt, then flip them and drizzle with more oil if needed.
  7. Cook the second side until golden brown and crispy, flipping again if necessary for desired crispiness.
  8. Repeat the process with the remaining potatoes and serve hot.
