Ingredients

The beef mixture

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 whole jalapeño, stemmed, seeded and chopped
  • 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon adobo sauce
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon sweetener of choice
  • 1 ½ pounds grass-fed beef

For serving

  • 16 pieces Mission Organics White Corn Tortillas
  • to taste avocado
  • to taste cheese
  • to taste tomato
  • to taste cabbage
  • to taste cilantro
  • to taste lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat and cook onion, jalapeño, and chipotle pepper for 8 minutes.
  2. Add garlic, chili powder, and cumin to the skillet and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Season the mixture with salt and pepper, then transfer it to a slow cooker.
  4. Stir in beef broth and sweetener, then add the beef.
  5. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours until the meat can be easily pulled apart.
  6. Shred the beef and heat the tortillas in a skillet until warm.
  7. Serve the tacos with desired toppings.
