Sautéed Beef Cabbage and Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 each yellow onion
  • ½ head green cabbage (5 cups chopped)
  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil
  • ½ lb. ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp steak seasoning
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • ½ Tbsp soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Dice the onion and chop the cabbage into ½-inch pieces.
  2. Sauté the onion in cooking oil over medium heat until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and steak seasoning, sauté until the beef is fully cooked.
  4. If using higher fat beef, drain excess fat.
  5. Add chopped cabbage and water, sauté until cabbage is softened.
  6. Add cooked rice and butter, fold until combined and heated through.
  7. Season with soy sauce to taste, starting with 1 tsp and adjusting as needed.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
