Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups russet potatoes, peeled and diced medium
  • 1 ½ cups cooked honey ham, diced medium
  • ½ cup celery, diced small
  • ½ cup onion, diced small
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • to taste salt

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large pot, combine potatoes, ham, celery, onions, and chicken broth. Bring to a low boil and cook until vegetables are fork-tender.
  2. 2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour. Cook until flour is golden.
  3. 3. Slowly add milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  4. 4. Pour the flour and milk mixture into the soup and stir. Add pepper and salt to taste.
  5. 5. Serve and enjoy.
