Ingredients

The Sandwich

  • 12 slices white bread
  • 1 large English cucumber

The Cream Cheese Spread

  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • ½ tsp dried dill
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp freshly cracked pepper
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 green onion sliced

Instructions

  1. Freeze the slices of bread for at least one hour to make slicing easier.
  2. Prepare the cream cheese spread by mixing cream cheese, dill, garlic powder, salt, pepper, lemon juice, and green onion until smooth.
  3. Peel the cucumber if desired and slice it very thinly.
  4. Spread about 1.5 Tbsp of cream cheese on each slice of bread.
  5. Layer cucumber slices on one piece of bread and top with another slice, cream cheese side facing the cucumbers.
  6. Trim the crusts and cut the sandwich into two or four pieces.
  7. Serve the sandwiches within 1-2 hours of assembly.
