Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to the dough package instructions.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced onion, fennel, and salt; cook until lightly browned, about 10-15 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for an additional 5 minutes until softened.
- Uncover, stir in water, and cook until the mixture is golden brown.
- Stir in Italian seasoning and adjust salt to taste.
- Roll out the pizza dough and transfer it to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Spread the onion and fennel mixture over the dough.
- Top with mozzarella cheese and scatter kalamata olives on top.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the dough is golden.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle with parmesan if using, and slice into pieces.
