Instructions
- Score the brisket and rub beef base into it on all sides, then apply the rub mixture and refrigerate overnight.
- Prepare the smoker or grill for indirect heat at 225°F, adding the wood for smoking.
- Place the brisket on the smoker and smoke until it reaches 170°F, approximately 7.5 hours for a 5 lb brisket.
- Wrap the brisket in foil with the wrap sauce and cook until it reaches 190°F, about 2 hours.
- Remove the brisket from the foil, apply the glaze, and cook for an additional 20 minutes.
- Let the brisket rest in foil for 30 minutes before slicing against the grain.
