Ingredients

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Brownie Batter

  • 1 ½ cups semisweet or bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup salted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan with aluminum foil and cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, whip the softened cream cheese until smooth, then mix in sour cream, sugar, and flour until well combined.
  3. In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate and butter together in the microwave in intervals until smooth.
  4. Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla into the melted chocolate mixture until well combined.
  5. Add flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until no dry streaks remain.
  6. Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, then dollop the cream cheese mixture on top and spread it evenly.
  7. Microwave the reserved brownie batter briefly to soften, then drizzle it over the cream cheese layer.
  8. Optionally, swirl the brownie batter into the cream cheese layer for a marbled effect.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Allow to cool completely, then refrigerate for 2-3 hours before cutting into squares.
