Jamaican Jerk Tofu

Ingredients

The tofu

  • 1 block extra firm tofu

The marinade

  • cup veggie broth
  • 1 teaspoon bbq seasoning
  • 1-2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
  • 1 to 1 ½ tablespoons cornstarch
  • cup bbq sauce
  • 1 tablespoon wet jerk seasoning

The cooking oil

  • 2 teaspoons oil

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for 30 minutes, then tear it into uneven pieces.
  2. In a bowl, combine the tofu with vegetable broth, BBQ seasoning, and poultry seasoning. Mix and marinate for about 30 minutes.
  3. Add cornstarch to the marinated tofu and stir to coat.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, then add the tofu. Cook until golden brown on each side, about 4 to 8 minutes.
  5. Transfer the tofu to a bowl, add BBQ sauce and jerk seasoning, and stir to coat. Let it sit for about 3 minutes before serving.
