Instructions
- Prepare the crust by mixing sugar, salt, and flour in a bowl, then incorporating butter and water to form a dough.
- Chill the dough and then roll it out to fit a pie dish, crimping the edges and chilling again.
- Preheat the oven and bake the crust with weights until golden brown.
- Make the filling by whisking together sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, eggs, milk, vanilla, and salt, then cook until thickened.
- Add melted chocolate to the filling and pour it into the cooled crust, then chill until set.
- Prepare the whipped cream by melting gelatin and mixing it with cream, sugar, vanilla, and salt until soft peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream over the chilled filling and dust with cocoa powder if desired.
