Ingredients

The mocha base

  • 1 ½ teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 heaping tablespoon salted caramel sauce
  • ½ cup hot coffee
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream

Toppings

  • whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Combine cocoa powder and sugar in a small saucepan.
  2. Add water and heat over medium heat until smooth.
  3. Stir in caramel sauce and hot coffee until well combined.
  4. Add milk and optional heavy cream, heating until steaming but not boiling.
  5. Pour into a mug, taste, and adjust sweetness if needed.
  6. Top with whipped cream if desired and enjoy.
