Ingredients

The smoothie

  • 2 medium-large bananas (ripe, peeled, sliced and frozen)
  • 2 Tbsp cacao powder (or cocoa powder)
  • 1 Tbsp salted almond butter
  • ¼ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 pieces pitted dates (optional for extra sweetness)

The toppings

  • 1 just ripe banana (peeled and sliced lengthwise)
  • to taste coconut whipped cream
  • to taste ripe cherries
  • 1 Tbsp shredded unsweetened coconut
  • 1 Tbsp cacao nibs

Instructions

  1. Blend frozen bananas, cacao powder, almond butter, and almond milk until thick and creamy.
  2. Add vanilla extract and dates, then blend again until well combined.
  3. Prepare serving glasses by cutting a banana in half lengthwise and pressing the pieces against the sides.
  4. Pour the smoothie into the glasses and add desired toppings.
