Ingredients

The shrimp and vegetables

  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • ¼ cup sliced zucchini
  • ¼ cup sliced yellow squash
  • ¼ cup sliced red onions
  • ¼ cup sliced red peppers
  • ¼ cup sliced orange peppers

The BBQ seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon brown sugar or sweetener
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Instructions

  1. Soak bamboo or wooden skewers in water for 20 minutes if using them.
  2. Coat the grill grates with oil to prevent sticking.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium heat (350 degrees).
  4. Drizzle shrimp and vegetables with olive oil and season with spices.
  5. Thread shrimp and vegetables onto the skewers.
  6. Grill the skewers for 3-4 minutes on each side, cooking for a total of 6-7 minutes.
  7. Remove from the grill and coat with BBQ sauce.
