Banana Nutella Croissants

Ingredients

The pastry

  • 1 box (2 sheets) frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 whole egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)

The filling

  • ¾ cup Nutella or other hazelnut spread
  • 1 to 2 pieces bananas, thinly sliced (about 36 slices)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2. Unfold one sheet of puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into thirds.
  3. 3. Cut each third into two triangles to make six triangles, and repeat with the second sheet for a total of 12 triangles.
  4. 4. Spread 1 tablespoon of Nutella on the wide end of each triangle and top with 3 banana slices.
  5. 5. Roll each triangle from the wide end to the tip, placing the tip underneath the croissant.
  6. 6. Arrange the croissants on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with the egg wash.
  7. 7. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
  8. 8. Cool for 5 minutes before serving warm or at room temperature.
