Homemade Apple Cider

Instructions
- Slice the apples and oranges into quarters and add them to a large stockpot.
- Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and water to the pot.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then lower the heat and cover, simmering for about 1 hour.
- Mash the cooked fruit with a potato masher and simmer for another hour.
- Strain the mixture to remove the pulp, preferably double-straining for smoothness.
- Return the strained cider to the pot and add maple syrup, adjusting sweetness to taste.
- Serve warm, optionally with extra sliced fruit.
