Homemade Apple Cider

Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a stockpot, covering with water and leaving space at the top.
- Heat over high until it simmers, then reduce to medium-low and cover, simmering for about 2 hours until apples are soft.
- Mash the apples and oranges to release more flavors, then cover and simmer for an additional hour.
- Strain the mixture using a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth, discarding the solids.
- Stir in sweetener to taste and serve warm, optionally adding fresh orange slices and cinnamon sticks for presentation.
