Ingredients

The pasta

  • 8 ounces regular or whole-wheat macaroni noodles
  • 2 teaspoons salt, for the pasta cooking water

The sauce

  • cup heavy cream
  • 1 ⅓ cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • teaspoon garlic powder
  • teaspoon onion powder
  • a tiny pinch cayenne pepper or hot sauce

Instructions

  1. 1. Boil water in a medium pot and add the noodles and salt. Cook until al dente.
  2. 2. Drain the pasta and set it aside. Return the pot to medium heat.
  3. 3. Add the cream to the pot and bring to a boil, setting a timer for 1 minute once boiling.
  4. 4. After a minute, add the cheese and spices, stirring until the cheese melts and forms a creamy sauce.
  5. 5. Add the drained pasta to the sauce, stirring to coat evenly.
  6. 6. Taste and adjust salt if necessary, then serve immediately.
