Instructions
- Prepare the pie dough and roll it into a 14-inch circle, then place it in a 9-inch pie plate and trim the edges.
- Chill the pie crust in the refrigerator while preheating the oven to 375°F.
- Toast the pecans in the oven for 5 to 6 minutes until fragrant, then let them cool.
- In a bowl, whisk the eggs until pale, then add the maple syrup, melted butter, vanilla, optional bourbon, and salt, whisking until blended.
- Arrange the toasted pecans in the chilled pie crust and pour the egg mixture over them.
- Place the pie on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 40 to 50 minutes until the crust is golden and the filling has puffed.
- Allow the pie to cool for 1 hour before slicing and serving, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
