Instructions
- Prepare the pie crust or butter pie crust through step 5.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and roll out the chilled pie dough.
- Blind bake the pie crust for 15 minutes with weights.
- Spread pecans evenly inside the warm pie crust.
- Whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and flour together until combined.
- Add vanilla extract, salt, eggs, and maple syrup to the mixture and whisk until combined.
- Pour the filling over the pecans in the pie crust.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes, covering the edges if they brown too quickly.
- Sprinkle sea salt on top after removing from the oven and let cool completely.
- Slice and serve at room temperature, topping with whipped cream if desired.
