Ingredients

The filling

  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • ½ Onion diced
  • 1 lb Lean Ground Turkey or Beef (97% lean)
  • 3 cloves Garlic, pressed
  • 2 tsp Ginger Powder
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • 2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • ¼ - ½ tsp Red Pepper Flakes
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ¼ tsp Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 tsp Dijon Mustard
  • 2 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • ¼ cup Teriyaki Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 (20 oz) can Crushed Pineapple (with juice)
  • ½ cup Ketchup
  • 1 (6 oz) can Tomato Paste

For serving

  • 6 Pineapple Rings
  • 6 Hawaiian or Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns

Instructions

  1. Sauté the onion in olive oil for 2 minutes.
  2. Add the ground meat and cook for about 3 minutes, breaking it up.
  3. Stir in the garlic.
  4. Add the spices and stir well.
  5. Mix in the soy sauce, Dijon mustard, vinegar, teriyaki sauce, and brown sugar, cooking for 1 minute.
  6. Add the crushed pineapple and stir.
  7. Top with ketchup and tomato paste without stirring.
  8. Seal the pot and set to pressure cook for 4 minutes.
  9. Let it sit for 5 minutes after cooking, then release the remaining steam.
  10. Open the lid and stir the mixture.
  11. Serve on buns topped with a pineapple ring.
